Whilst camels were first imported into Australia in the 1840's for use as pack animals, today they are the mainly utilised in the tourism industry. As you look at the photographs of these strange and unusual creatures, we must remember, that many of the historical expeditions, building projects and opening up of some of the remote regions of Australia, were made possible by this amazing animal.
